Can the caps be worn in any weather?

Yes, because they are available lined for winter and unlined for summer and the hot regions of the world.

What material are they made of?

The caps are usually made of cotton, so they are breathable. Sometimes a little elastane is added for a better fit (keyword: Flexfit) or nylon for even more shape stability. Some models, like the winter army caps we have, also have felt-lined earmuffs.
