Be well equipped with tactical vests (chest rigs) from ASMC in terms of outdoor and military equipment

Here you can find the right vest for every situation. We show you what to consider when choosing and using one.

What should be considered when using it?

Before using vests for the first time, make sure that they have been adjusted to your body. The various loops allow the vest to be individually adjusted to the wearer's body shape. Heavy luggage can put strain on the back and restrict freedom of movement. It is therefore all the more important that the vest fits tightly to the body. This allows maximum flexibility and freedom of movement. The vests in our range allow you to store many items. Before using the vest, make sure that all pockets and compartments are securely closed.

Which vest is suitable for me?

Before choosing a suitable vest, you should first consider in which area it will mainly be used. The vests in our range have a very diverse design. The majority of the vests have camouflage elements, which can vary in color. In addition to gray and black tones, you can also buy versions with white and green color elements or in the respective solid color. When choosing a suitable model, attention should be paid to the compartments and pockets. While some vests offer relatively little storage space, other models have an extremely large number of pockets. If you want to store a lot of items such as pocket knives, bottles and ammunition, you should go for more fully equipped models. When choosing a vest, you should also consider whether the model has shoulder pads or not. The use of shoulder pads is recommended for long-term use. To determine the correct size, we would like to refer you to the ASMC size chart .

Expert tip: How to best equip a tactical vest

There are usually loops and holders prepared for the various items that need to be packed, which prevent the specific item from moving or falling out. It is therefore essential that you pack the rig as intended by the manufacturer. However, there are usually many "multi-purpose pockets" and holders in which you can store the rest of your equipment as you wish. With Molle systems, it is of course practical that you can usually put the vest on and then equip it. As a basic rule, everything that needs to be within reach should be stored in the rig, not in the backpack.

Questions: West

When should you choose a vest and when is it better to choose a chest rig?

The distinction is probably fluid, but rigs usually don't have pockets on the back , as is often the case with vests. Additionally, vests can be put on and taken off like a jacket, whereas rigs are a complete solution that you usually slip into. This also makes the pocket on the front of the stomach possible. So everyone decides for themselves which one suits them best, because there are no really major differences apart from the following: If you want/have to carry a backpack, then you should obviously go for the rig, as there is no pocket on the back. One small advantage of vests is that the weight of the equipment is better and more evenly distributed across the body.

What types of vests are there?

There are normal vests that basically cover the whole torso, but there are also the so-called cummerbund versions that are simply worn like a larger belt. Then there are versions that are used by the police and can be pulled over bulletproof vests, for example.

Are there vests with a Molle system?

The widely used so-called MOLLE system is also often found in vests and is an industry standard for modularly attached additional bags and modules. MOLLE is an abbreviation for Modular L ightweight L oad–carrying E quipment. Introduced as a military system for attaching and carrying equipment and other objects, it is characterized by standardized carrying strips made of textile material that are connected to the textile base, in this case a vest, with multiple seams. This makes them very stable and lasts a long time.

How do jackets and vests differ?

There is actually only one important distinguishing feature: vests have no sleeves.
