Special training devices or cartridges allow you to test use with water or blue paint so that you are prepared for an emergency and have already practiced using it. In this country, the use of the "real" irritants is only suitable for animal defense, for example for tours in the wilderness or on remote paths. This allows you to practice the situation as realistically as possible, as far as the options allow. It can take some time before you can aim properly. But you must not forget that a real emergency is also a stressful situation and you should especially practice pulling a spray out of your handbag or holster. Why are the systems called "sprays"?

This is actually a misnomer, as most models of this self-defense system use a liquid jet. The biggest advantage of this is that you can use it even in headwinds without being affected.

How far does the "beam" reach?

As already mentioned in the very similar category "CS gas", the jet of some sprays reaches from 4 to 6 meters, which also applies here. However, there are differences from manufacturer to manufacturer. Of course, it also depends on the wind conditions.
