Secure grip for any terrain: boots and their functionality

As far as our feet will carry us... Adventurers don't want to be limited in this way in their free time or at work. The quality and suitability of the boots has a significant impact on how long they can go.

Aspects of the weather

Anyone who rarely treats themselves to functional footwear will be surprised by the extensive selection at ASMC. But this is the only way to find the right boots for the intended range of uses. As expected, the models meet the requirements of different seasons in terms of material properties. While some models simply complement the outfit in a stylish way or protect against moisture, other shoes focus on warming properties or comprehensive protection against the cold. Summer boots for trekking or outdoor activities also ensure a healthy foot climate in high outside temperatures and do not have any metal parts when lacing.

Aspects of the terrain

Apart from the characteristic suitability for the weather and comfort, the right sole is important for the boots. It is very informative to take a close look at the profiles in the ASMC product range. Renowned labels are aware that every terrain has specific requirements. The pronounced structure of a mountain boot must offer just as much grip on vegetative ground as on loose rock. On expeditions in the jungle, grip is required on slippery passages. However, the profile must not immediately become clogged with loose ground material. On ambitious missions in the city, the base of the boots must also prove itself in mountain sprints on asphalt or in daring jumps from heights. With work shoes in particular, it is important that the sole is not attacked by acids and enables safe steps on "explosive" ground. On horseback, on the other hand, smooth facts are preferable for the boots. This is the only way to make sensitive actions possible when galloping. Gaiters complement this selection perfectly by providing additional protection from moisture and dirt, protecting the legs from injuries caused by undergrowth and improving thermal insulation, which can be particularly beneficial in extreme weather conditions.

Expert tip: Step by step to a well-laced shoe

Tying your shoes may not seem like a difficult task, but there are a few tricks that make running easier.
With a targeted lacing technique, many problems can be avoided from the outset. A major problem for many is the heel. It is often narrower than the heel box. Then the foot slides upwards with every step. In boots with so-called "deep pull hooks", the heel fit can be improved using pulley lacing: To do this, thread the laces through both deep pull hooks. Then guide the opposite laces under this deep pull hook connection. If you now pull both laces tight, the foot is pressed into the heel box. Finally, lace the shoe crosswise as usual.
If the pressure is on the instep ("top of the foot"), it is recommended to thread the laces at the level of the pressure point instead of crosswise through two eyelets on the same side. This gives the shoe the opportunity to stretch.

Questions: Boots

Which is the right size?

There is no general statement here, as shoe sizes are not standardized.
Since you slide forward when running downhill for a long time, there should be enough space to prevent you from bumping into anything. There should be about 1cm of space from the tip of your foot to the shoe.

What else should I consider when trying on clothes?

The boots should be bought in the evening and not in the morning. During the day, feet swell, so the size may be a bit tight.

It is best to wear the socks that you will also wear in your shoes.
